Epilepsy and Full Spectrum Oil

Epilepsy & Full Spectrum Oil:

Epilepsy is a central nervous system or neurological condition that causes seizures, which are disturbances in the brains electrical activity. Epilepsy is diagnosed when a person has 2 or more unexplained seizures.

Some common causes of Epilepsy can be:

Genetic influence Brain conditions Head trauma Prenatal injury Infectious diseases Developmental disorders

The brain communicates with the body by sending out electrical signals. Epilepsy causes random lightening storms in the brain. The signals misfire and communication comes to a halt.

Some of the symptoms of seizures include:

Loss of consciousness Disturbance in taste, vision and hearing capabilities Mood Swings Temporary confusion Symptoms such as Fear, anxiety or Deja vu Jerking movements of legs and arms which cannot be controlled

Triggers for seizures can be sleep deprivation, stress, hormonal changes, low blood sugar, drugs or alcohol, excess caffeine, and specific times of day.

Side effects of common anti-seizure medications can be increased seizures, dizziness, drowsiness, weight gain, internal gut damage and liver damage.

Full Spectrum Oil: A Natural Alternative:

Over the past decade, Full Spectrum Oil has been investigated for its anticonvulsant effects. Several studies confirmed its efficacy in the treatment of epileptic seizures, especially in pediatric age. In 2016, the first results of phase III clinical trials showed beneficial effects of Full Spectrum Oil in treatment-resistant seizure disorders, including Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS) and Dravet syndromes (DS).

One study surveyed 15 patients suffering from Generalized Epilepsy. These patients were divided into two groups. Each patient in a double-blind procedure was administered with 200-300 mg Full Spectrum daily of Full Spectrum Oil or placebo. These drugs were given for 4 consecutive months.

As a result, all the patients tolerated the Full Spectrum Oil, and there were no signs of toxicity or any adverse side effects. 4 out of 8 Full Spectrum patients remained free of convulsions and 3 other patients demonstrated partial improvement.

At the American Academy of Neurology’s 72nd Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada, April 25 to May 1, 2020, studies reported a 79% decrease in seizure activity in those taking Full Spectrum Oil over a 12 week period.

Moreover, Full Spectrum Oil has also shown potential in treating problems such as depression, anxiety, and mood swings. All these issues are significant symptoms of secondary epilepsy.

Why Full Spectrum Oil works:

Similar to the most common anti-seizure medications, Full Spectrum Oil blocks NMDA receptors, enhancing GABA receptors and stabilising ion channels to reduce seizure activity. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory and neuro-protectant, which may help bring back some of the misfiring in the brain. Additionally, Full Spectrum Oil's anti-anxiety effects help with the stress of having an unpredictable seizure disorder.

We recommend Full Spectrum Oil for those with Epilepsy. Full Spectrum Oil is also suitable for children and pets who have seizures.

Please start your dosage slow and low before building up to the best dosage for you (See our Dosage guide, and opt for Chronic Symptoms)

For adults, we recommend taking the Oil sublingually (under the tongue) for children, you can add to their food or drink and for pets, you add to their food.

Other helpful tips for those with Epilepsy are to adopt a ketogenic diet, lowering blood glucose levels have shown to be very helpful to reduce seizure triggers, lowering caffeine intake, and of course removing all alcohol. B-vitamins from nutritional yeast are very good for supporting the brain and down-regulating nervous system activity.

Fish Oil caps have also been shown to help those suffering seizures. Moderate activity like walking can be effective at reducing the stress and anxiety related to epilepsy.
